5-10 minutesThe vehicle gets a thorough two-bucket hand wash followed by an iron decontamination spray to dissolve embedded brake dust and rail dust. This is non-negotiable — coating over contamination is how you get a bad result.
45-60 minutesA clay bar is worked across every painted panel to physically remove bonded contaminants the wash cannot touch — tree sap, tar, industrial fallout. The surface needs to be perfectly smooth before any correction or coating goes on.
30-45 minutesUsing a dual-action or rotary polisher, swirl marks, light scratches, and water spot etching are removed from the clear coat. The coating locks in whatever finish is underneath it, so the paint needs to look right before it goes on.
2-6 hours depending on paint condition and tierThe ceramic coating is applied panel by panel using a controlled wipe-in method, then leveled before it flashes. Timing and temperature matter here. Rushing this step is how coatings fail early — James does not rush this step.
